Charles Wells Choose CarboCheck for BombardierHaving enjoyed many years of trouble-free operation from Canongate's Embra CarboCheck systems, Charles Wells have completed the installation of the very latest MK3 systems at the Eagle Brewery in Bedford. Famous for Bombardier Bitter and more recently Cobra Lager and the Japanese lager Kirin, Charles Wells found the need to upgrade their carbonation systems to cater for the wider range of beers being brewed. Engineers at the brewery contacted Canongate who were able to offer a very cost-effective upgrade package for the existing systems. CarboCheck is the world's leading in-line CO2 measurement and control system for beer, with over 100 units sold during the year 2000 alone. Using the well proven method of measuring the partial pressure of gas, which has permeated through a silicone membrane, CarboCheck provides fast and accurate in-line CO2 measurement. With no sampling or by-pass lines, the sensor is easy to clean and requires very little maintenance. The upgrade package installed at the Eagle Brewery and which a number of other brewers have recently undertaken, involved reusing the existing field mounted sensors and replacing the control unit with the MK3 version. There are now two dual channel CarboCheck systems at Charles Wells giving total flexibility to carbonate all types of beers requiring both large and small CO2 lifts. |
