SpotCheck Product for Hygienic Pigging Systems
A SpotCheck Wash for Well-Known Shampoo
Shampoo packaging line cleaning system relies on SpotCheck for accurate
control
When Hygienic Pigging Systems wanted to know when the pipes on a customer's
packaging lines for a cosmetic product were empty, the company contacted
Canongate Technology Ltd. with a view to using the SpotCheck non-invasive
liquid level switch. Hygienic Pigging Systems began trials of the system on a
well-known brand of shampoo.
SpotCheck is an ultrasonic level switch designed for use in liquid
applications where avoiding contact with the product is vital. Its non-invasive
nature ensures that breaking into tanks or pipes is no longer necessary. The
transducer is simply mounted outside of the vessel using special adhesive or
clamps. The non-invasive transducer differentiates between the different
acoustic coupling effects produced by liquid and air and a controller detects a
difference in the sonic 'footprint' when the area immediately behind the sensor
is covered or uncovered by the liquid. This difference causes an LED warning
lamp to illuminate and the relay to change state. SpotCheck is tolerant of
suspended solids and gas bubbles and does not trigger on surface foam.
After successful trials on the system, Hygienic Pigging Systems adopted the
SpotCheck as the standard product detector for its product recovery system.
Since then, the company has been a regular SpotCheck customer.
