A system for the automatic measurement of liquid volume and alcohol concentration is available from Canongate Technology. VesselCheck utilises novel, non-invasive ultrasonic measurement methods to achieve outstanding accuracy figures for both level and alcohol content in bulk liquid containers.

The heart of the system is the VesselCheck control and processing unit which is connected to two ultrasonic and temperature transducers fitted to the base and side walls of up to sixteen vessels.

An important aspect of the level measurement is that errors due to temperature and density are eliminated to provide typical accuracy figures of +/-0.1% of volume.

Alcohol concentration readings are obtained directly, without the need for first making density measurements and are accurate to +/-0.1%. The ultrasonic transducers which have CENELEC approval for use in hazardous areas, are easily fitted, without the need for cutting holes in the vessel.
